Pereti is a Nui-Matoran and a character in Repicheep - Toa of Irony's Tales of the Nui-Matoran.
Biography[]
Pereti was one of many Matoran kidnapped by the Brotherhood of Makuta for their Nui-Matoran project. After being put through a number of experiments, Pereti emerged as one of roughly twenty surviving Matoran who were brainwashed and sent to be cared for and trained by various Makuta. In the wake of a Nui-Matoran killing his guardian, a message was sent for all the Nui-Matoran to be put to death. However, when Pereti was attacked, his mental restraints were broken. He managed to use his powers to escape and eventually made his way to Xia.
After unsuccessfully attempting to find employment on the island, Pereti resorted to thievery. He was eventually caught stealing what he believed to be scrap material, but was actually part of an order from the Brotherhood. When Pereti was put on trial, he was shocked to see his old guardian as the Brotherhood's representative. When his sentence of "death by experimentation" was handed out, he was convinced that the Makuta had bribed the judge, knowing full well that Pereti could not be killed.
Pereti spent the next three years as a practice target for all manner of experimental weaponry, eventually managing to remove himself from the pain of it all and from any emotion associated with it. During his time in prison, he gained the pity of a Vortixx jailer named Treste who attempted to make his time in jail more bearable in whatever way she could. Pereti was eventually found by another Nui-Matoran named Ihar, and together, the pair broke out of jail, using their powers to fight those guards that came after them. After clearing Xia and making it out over the open ocean, the pair turned towards the Northern Continent.
Powers and Abilities[]
Pereti was granted the powers of self-regeneration and quick healing by the Makuta, effectively making it impossible to kill him. He has been seen recovering from being douced with acid, burnt to death, and being riddled with holes. He has also recovered from a paralysis Rhotuka in record time and will regularly put himself in between himself and his allies to protect them from harm.
During his time with his Makuta guardian, he was also taught various forms of martial arts which, even after three years in prison, he is still profitient in. He has also become calloused to virtually all pain, which allows him to take damage without going into shock from it.
Personality[]
Pereti harbors a deep hatred for the Brotherhood for the torturous experiments they put him through, as well as sentencing him to a lifetime of pain on Xia. Though he tries to be amicable to those around him, he will sometimes revert back to a near emotionless state, caused by his time in prison.
