Tayra was a Makuta-turned
halfling and a main villain in Inferna Firesword's epic Heroes and Halflings.
Biography[]
Little is known about Tayra prior to the events of Heroes and Halflings, except that he was a Makuta with interests in dreams. About 1001 years after the Great Cataclysm, Tayra was Melded to the Shadow of Toa Metru Whenua alongside Fyre and Kiria, who were Melded to Matau and Nokama respectively. Afterward, the trio invaded the island of Rohaya and killed eighteen of the Toa Rohaya. When the survivors returned to Rohaya with the remaining Toa Metru, Tayra battled them in the Razor's Edge, losing when Kronus followed him into the Krycai Volcano and stole the key fragment he carried.
After Fyre was defeated at Razor's Edge, Tayra was the only one that suggested leaving Rohaya, but his idea got shot down by his comrades. He later used his Kanohi Naythra to induce nightmares in the five Toa, and battled Vakama and Kronus to a stalemate in their final fight before the pair fell unconscious. He was finally defeated and killed by Whenua.
Powers[]
As a Makuta, Tayra has access to the 42 Rahkshi powers and all abilities his people had. He lost the power to occupy spiritless or robotic bodies when he became a halfling, but gained near-immortality, elemental power over earth, and a mindlink to Whenua. He used a broadsword in Heroes and Halflings, though it is unknown if he preferred it as a weapon. He is known to wear the Kanohi Naythra, the Great Mask of Nightmares, which can cause nightmares in sleeping targets and eventually cause insomnia.
Personality[]
Not much of Tayra's own personality is known. He was regretful when the Makuta evolved into pure energy, since he secretly enjoyed being able to dream, and was constantly interested in learning about and controling dreams. He was cunning and clever, as his people were known to be, but not much else is known.
